A Search for New Trustees

Hi there, thanks for looking at this call out.

We’re currently entering a growth period for the next 24 months and seeking to increase our volunteer Trustee board with new faces, knowledge, experience and skills.

We are interested in anyone who would like to find out more about the opportunity, no matter what your experience, but we’re also specifically looking for a Secretary to coordinate organising meetings and take minutes.

Seed uses music as a tool for community development by inspiring social activities that build emotional bonds and friendship between participants. These have a range of positive impacts, and we apply them to support growth in disadvantaged communities. We tackle social isolation and low self-esteem, improving confidence and wellbeing, and offer skills development both in the arts as well as basic life and work skills.

In 2018 we directly benefited and improved the lives of over 110 individuals through around 500 hours of volunteer time, while also providing arts engagement and development for the volunteers who give their time and skills to support the Seed Community.

If we were to capture the key passions that bring people to engagement with Seed, we’d probably have to say –

Community Development – Musical Creativity – Health & Wellbeing.

What should you bring?

A shared sense of purpose – Do you like the sound of the outcomes Seed works towards?

A personal development goal – Are you looking to grow with a developing charity?

A positive and accepting attitude – Can you see the good in everyone alongside their potential for growth?

A collaborative approach – It’s important we can collaborate as a Board, to lead the right attitude amongst the community and our approach to working with our stakeholders

An ability to take on responsibility – As Trustees we all have a shared duty of responsibility for the charity, not all decisions are easy to make but we need to do this together.

What else can you bring? – let us know!

Some Practical Details:

If you’d like to find out more – please email enquiries@seedstudios.org to begin the conversation.

We have meetings in the evening during the week and currently they tend to be once every month or two as we’re at an exciting stage in our development meaning there are lots of things to talk about and plan for.

You don’t have to attend all the meetings, but you’d need to expect to be at a majority of them.

They’re from 19:30-21:00 at Old Trafford Wellbeing Centre (M16 0LN). The day of the week varies based on people’s availability.

We look forward to hearing from you.
