Drop It Like It’s Hot (Pot)

Tuesday 30th May saw a great celebration of the work done on the project with an ‘open mic’ evening at the Broomwood Centre.

Seed Studios and the community cafe put on a live music and spoken word event for the local community.

Participants in the Building Resilience: Tackling Stigma project got the chance to demonstrate what they have been working on and perform in front of an audience.

Many have penned their own songs and put them to music with the help of our community musician Raúl – the audience was treated to an array of talents and different styles of music and performance.

There were also contributions from the guitar group and the Broomwood Players – the latter performing a taster scene from a recorded comedy drama the group is working on. The guitar group has produced a super-group called Phil and the Dog Biscuits which performed some crowd-pleasing rock classics.

Big thanks are due for the volunteers who planned the night, set up the equipment, compèred and DJ’d and made the hot pot and brews!
