In December 2024, we capped off another wonderful year at Seed Studios with our annual Celebrate Seed Studios concert at Band on the Wall!
Over 50 performers from both of our centres joined us on the night to celebrate their creative achievements at our weekly group sessions, as well as a brilliant year which saw Seed Studios collaborate with new partners to put on mindfulness workshops, food & music events and Egyptian music workshops!
“Inspiring and encouraging”
Audience members were treated to performances from groups like Sound Explorers, showcasing the free-form inclusive improvisation they practice every Monday 1 to 3pm at our Old Trafford Wellbeing Centre, blasting out a 10 minute odyssey. They heard from our Broomwood Jamming Group who played the classics like Johnny B. Goode that they’ve been practising every Tuesday 1 to 4pm at our Broomwood Community Wellbeing Centre. We were also delighted to see our Founder and Chair Andy Hodson providing beautiful, absorbing soundscapes with a live modular synthesis set soundtracking the intermissions between acts.
For the first time, we heard original compositions from The Orchard, a new group specialising in song-writing, which is set to open up to the public in March 2025 at Old Trafford Wellbeing Centre. Our new volunteer Clynton will be leading this session where participants will be encouraged to nourish their creativity and musical ideas every week.
We also celebrated receiving funding from National Lottery’s Reaching Communities fund, securing our staff positions until January 2028! Our staff work to make sure volunteering with Seed Studios is as enjoyable and rewarding as possible, to keep our studios are open and inclusive, and to help us to continue supporting positive mental health in Trafford through free, innovative, musical projects.
