In December 2025, we rounded off another incredible year at Seed Studios with our annual Celebrate Seed Studios concert at Band on the Wall!
Over 50 performers from both of our centres joined us on the night to celebrate their creative achievements at our weekly group sessions, and our socially prescribed one-to-one service, as well as a brilliant year which saw Seed Studios collaborate with the Manchester International Roots Orchestra to facilitate a series of Roma music workshops at our Old Trafford and Broomwood studios, and maintain our strong relationship with String of Hearts CIC to continue the fantastic Music Appreciation workshops! We have exciting things planned for 2026 so watch this space!

“I think that the performance inspired me to learn an instrument”
“Opened my eyes to the various assistance and support that Seed Studios gives”
“Reassurance of the kind nature of human beings”
It is always a tough job for the first act of the evening but the amazing Beginners Guitar workshop, performing under the name Silver Lining, made easy work of it and had the crowd clapping along in no time. We were then treated to a selection of sea shanties performed by the Broomwood and Old Trafford Ukulele workshops performing under the name Good Companions. They even had pirate outfits! The Orchard then brought the first half of the evening to a close in style, performing three original compositions written entirely within the workshops!

The second half of the event saw the incredible Chris Mohammed, performing under the name Across Forever, deliver his first ever live performance completely unaccompanied by other musicians. Chris performed two original songs that had heavy shoegaze and 80’s alternative influence. A big treat for fans of Cocteau Twins and their like, we are so very excited to see (and hear) what Chris does next! Sound Explorers performed next with the ensemble performing a spellbinding, and entirely improvised, set that truly took the audience on a journey filled with crashing peaks and delicate, understated valleys over the course of their 15 minute set. The penultimate act of the night was the Broomwood Jamming Group and Wednesday Knights who played a set of classics culminating in a barnstorming version of Comfortably Numb complete with outrageously incredible guitar and saxophone solos. Closing out the night, we were treated to the spectacular Old Trafford Jamming Group who played an eclectic selection of songs, closing the event with a rousing rendition of Zombie by The Cranberries.

And of course, not forgetting our Founder and Chair Andy Hodson, who once again provided hypnotic, Vangelis-like soundscapes with a live modular synthesis set soundtracking the intermissions between acts.

All of the performers on the night attend our weekly group sessions, which are FREE and open to all adults aged 18+. If you would like to join us, please check our weekly schedule of events here or get in touch with our Community & Operations Lead Adam at adam@seedstudios.org or on 07546790642. Or you are welcome to simply turn up!

We are excited to share some highlights from the performances on the night. Unfortunately there was an issue with the video feed but where there’s a will there’s a way so we thankfully have the audio as well as the wonderful photos taken by Rachel Parsley (thank you!). Please share these videos with your families and friends on Facebook, Instagram and across social media. Please note that we will remove any video or image if we are requested to by any of the performers or audience members featured.
Thank you to everyone who performed on the night, to everyone who came to support and to the Seed Studios volunteers, staff and trustees who made the event happen. See you at the next Celebrate Seed Studios!
